The anime queue: past and current

I've gone through Chihayafuru, Tonari no Kaibatsu-kun recently and just started Yuyushiki. It's the dumbest CGDCT show I've ever seen.

Steam Summer Sale: Share Your Purchases and Reccomendations!!!

I've bought my must-haves already, so just like last year, I'm not really tempted by anything. I was gonna get the Remnant: From The Ashes DLC, but it didn't go on sale. I have been craving some survival-horror, so I might get the Dead Space 2&3 DLC on PSN, since their standard prices are pretty...

What Interests You the Most About the Upcoming Next-Gen Consoles?

I'm kinda just excited to see PS4 games run better and load faster. Bloodborne with fast loading and The Evil Within at a steady 30 FPS would make them so much easier to go back to.

    What are you playing?

I need a break from reading in JRPGs and VA-11 Hall-A, so I'm finally playing Klonoa 2. I was infatuated with the demo as a kid, but I only tracked down a copy last year. It's really nice and upbeat.

    Most WTF Game

Just be careful if you decide to take the plunge, it's not a very good game. I'd suggest looking up the cutscenes.

    Most WTF Game

Evil Twin: Cyprien's Chronicle. There's drugs, the head of a giant teacher you climb into after cutting it open, a bunch of bizarre corrupted childhood iconography and this boss fight you defeat by making him puke if I remember correctly: It was a real journey and I still can't believe this...

    Favorite 'Art-house' Games

The only game that fits the bill for me would be Flower. Very chill and pretty. Being so simplistic, it makes good use of motion controls as well. The music is also really good.

So what part of your backlog, if any, have you worked on since this whole mess brought chunks of the world grinding to a halt?

Oh hey, I've been going through the Crossbell games as well. I got through chapter 4 of Azure last night. Shit's nuts!

    How is your backlog doing?

I'm gonna need a "BACKLOG ETERNAL" photoshop in the Doom font.

    How is your backlog doing?

I just finished adding stuff from the Bandai Namco bundle (I went for the more-than-average tier) to my Steam account and Backloggery page and I noticed that my backlog has effectively grown by one game this year thanks to that. It has wobbled around shrinking by 3 or 4 games all year due to my...

How Often Do You Finish Games?

Unless the game pisses me off so much that I can't bear the thought of thinking about it anymore, I'll finish it. Gotta fuel the blog mill and broaden my horizons somehow. Games of that ilk that come to mind are Drakengard 3 and Valdis Story: Abyssal City. I'll never finish those fucking things.

    Gaming Pet Peeves

Action sequences where you die instantly if you can't guess the content of the director's script. Uncharted and RE6 does this a lot.

ScionVyse Reviews - Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time

Man, you really covered everything. I'm usually a lot less wordy when I write about games. This game in particular was difficult to be concise about though, since the combat system has so many aspects to it. I really don't like that the Mega-Feeze seems to exist just to justify the large amount...

    Pick 2 from 2007

Galaxy, because it's good and Bioshock because the Immersive Sim genre needs all the help it can get. The rest may perish. Hell, going without Assassin's Creed may have forced Ubisoft to develop some better series to drown out the gaming landscape with.

Traveller In Playtime - Shadow of the Colossus

Matt, you already have a venue for small talk with me. Respect the thread and regurgitate some of that bile I know you have reserved for this game.

Traveller In Playtime - Shadow of the Colossus

All right, let's try this out. So, as you may be aware, I try to write blogs for the site regularly, most of which are reviews. And since I can't really compress my takes into Qposts (damn 255 character limit), I thought I'd do so here instead. Not only can I get notifications that way, but...

    Music Recommendations

Just make sure to get the PC version. The console versions are rough. Also, fun fact, I always thought this ELO song sounded like a Spyro song: I couldn't tell you which song, but Spyro probably influenced my appreciaten for prog rock.

    Music Recommendations

The drummer of The Police (Stewart Copeland) is the composer. Spyro is the only gaming stuff he ever did. Said he wanted to quite while on top. He even came back to make the title theme for Reignited. So while I'm at it, listen to The Police a bit:

    Music Recommendations

The soundtracks of the original 3 Spyro games are heavily prog rock inspired, so give this a listen: As far as proper prog rock goes, all I can think of is ASIA: And Electric Light Orchestra:
