Kekal. It's Indonesian avant-garde black metal.

By "avant-garde," I mean other tracks on this album (admittedly, not this one) somehow include Vocaloid without it sounding weird and out of place. It's a goddamn thing, all right.

If you want another band with a terrible name but great music, have some Show Me a Dinosaur.

With a name like that, it sounds like late 2000's scenecore. Nope. Post-black metal. Enjoy!

Here's a here's a brutal death/slam metal cover of All Star by Smash Mouth, as performed by a band that does songs about Shrek.

It's not great. But if I had to listen to it, so must you.

Because I'm (finally) writing my Red Alert 3 retrospective, I've been listening to nothing but Frank Kleplacki's stuff for the last few days. He just rocks so much!

Been hooked on Zeal & Ardor's Stranger Fruit again. Damn fine album! Black metal mixed with African American slave song style music. Incredibly effective mix.

Portal! It’s blackened death metal at its most twisted and extreme, often resembling a thick wall or surprisingly technical noise instead of anything musically comprehensible.

Fuck! Portal is so great!

Speaking of crazy tech metal, Pyrrhon has a new record out in a couple days. I can't wait for that one!
